Last month we visited my family in Paris, and on a hot evening Dan and I were wandering the lively streets of central Paris in the Châtelet area when we fancied going somewhere a bit special for a nice drink.
We headed for Beaubourg and were surprised to find that the Centre Pompidou was still open. The atypical cultural hub is renowned for its architecture which has had a Marmite effect on Parisian since it opened in 1977.
It offers brilliant modern art exhibitions, workshops, a cinema and a library and even a space for kids. We headed up to enjoy the fantastic views over the French capital. At the top of the building, the ‘George’ restaurant and its terrace, run by a team of classy and really welcoming staff is the perfect place for a relaxing moment with a glass of wine (or two)…
