If you have been following our blog for a while, you will know we are complete suckers for a good walk, however, you might not know that I love running. I started back in 2015 and have never looked back. It’s a fabulous way for me to decompress while challenging myself. It’s my ‘Me Time’ and Dan is often waiting for me with a glass of electrolytes or, more often than not, a cold beer for me to enjoy after I’ve kicked my running shoes off.
With Clifton Downs, Victoria Park, Troopers Hill and gorgeous harbour, Bristol is absolutely perfect for running but my favourite jogging haunts are most definitely Ashton Court and the Leigh Woods Cycle Path portion of the River Avon Trail. As I’m training regularly ahead of the Cardiff Half Marathon in March, I’ve spent many mornings in both areas and no matter the weather, they always help me stay motivated.
I thought I’d share a few pictures of the path between the Ashton Avenue Bridge, through the Avon Gorge, under the Clifton Suspension Bridge, all the way to the Ham Green fishing lake in Pill. The winter light always shows it at its best and I just couldn’t resist. I hope it to tickle your fancy in case you haven’t treaded the path already.
Whether you decided to cycle, walk or run along the Avon Gorge, I can assure you you’ll have a great time!
I’m running The Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for Protate Cancer UK and I’d love it if you could boost my fundraising. You can find all the details here. Thank you for your support! <3
