Ahoy there! Is there a better way to relax than a boat trip? There is something so exciting about a journey on the water and every time I have the occasion to step aboard a vessel, whatever its size or shape, I’m game!
Visiting friends and relatives are a great excuse for visiting local tourist attractions and we have travelled on the 1920s built Tower Belle several times, but this trip was a little different. We got up early to join the first city dock tour of the day. Apart from a family of three, we had the boat to ourselves.
The team at Bristol Packet were really welcoming and they treated us to a cuppa while the boat slowly began its trip.
No matter how many times we see Underfall Yard, Brunel’s SS Great Britain, the Matthew ship, M Shed museum and the harbourside cranes, we always feel joy viewing them from the water. Taking in the sights and listening to the informative and entertaining commentary about the history of Bristol harbour, we couldn’t help but experience that holiday feeling!
The Bristol Packet City Dock Tour takes 45 minutes. If you’re up for a longer adventure, you can join an Avon Gorge Cruise or a trip to Bath – the latter is on our bucket list!
We were provided with complimetary tickets for Bristol Packet as part of the Visit Bristol Summer in Bristol campaign. See all the company’s Bristol boat trips here.
